Leviathan & Sophia (PC Portraits)
Graphite on bristol
DragonCon 2023
2014
A couple of Followers of Set from Vampire the Masquerade. In all the years I've been doing the PC Portrait thing, I've actually gotten very few World of Darkness characters... In fact, is this my first? Surely not... Anyway, that's surprising given how crazy popular VtM was back in the day. Given my history with White Wolf Games, it's a treat to draw VtM characters. The World of Darkness was a game line I really wanted to draw for back when I was just getting started. I got to do a few pieces for Mage the Awakening near then end of my time as a WW artist, but it wasn't the same as it would have been doing work for one of the original games. Of course, there's a reason for that... I simply wasn't well suited for it at the time. RAVENLOFT, sure, but WoD had its own feel to it and I wasn't it. I think that might be why I put so much effort into that Vampire20 book I illustrated for Sigil Entertainment and the Storyteller's Vault a few years ago. I just wanted to prove to myself that I could work at that level. I think I did pretty well.
Sorry, I wandered off there a bit. What was I talking about? Oh, yeah. Here's a couple of Vampire the Masquerade characters! The "pompom" thing is actually a small war hammer covered with a pompom.

Nice.
I'll always have fond memories about WoD games, oh how they hurt my bank account back in the day, but so worth it. Been playing them since the early 90's, mastering for most of it.
Started 5th somewhere in 2019 after a hit of nostalgia at SPIEL 2018, and then tragedy hit... ...and hit... ...and then we got a pandemic to boot...
