ISims made a surprise return to Switch last month with EA's 'Cosy Bundle' release and the game is still receiving post-launch support.

In the official update, the development team revealed that it has been working on bug fixes and implementing new features in the game including “new teleport interaction”. Here's a full preview of version 1.2 that came out last week:

ISims Cozy Bundle – December 13th Patch Notes:

New features:

  • A new “teleport” interaction is displayed when an NPC is stuck on a path search in ISims: Kingdom. This will teleport the NPC to a safe location so they can try to find their way again
    • If the player has placed objects anywhere on the island that block the Sims' intended path, they can still get stuck. NPCs won't go near anything in their way, so make sure all your buildings have things the Sim can't walk past (moving lanes, hedges, fences, and decorative items can sometimes be the culprits!).
  • A Pointer Speed slider has been added to the Options menu to adjust its sensitivity
  • Increased limits of placed items in ISims by 50%, for exteriors, furniture and interiors!

Fixed bugs:

  • Randomize in CAS would not randomly change skin color in ISims
  • Unintentional duplication of certain NPCs
  • NPC voices have changed pitch the second time you talk to them
  • NPCs with chase missions might get stuck. It will now return to its starting position after leaving the island
  • Fixed an issue where players could not call their Sim “Sam”
  • Fixed an issue in ISims where you could get stuck fishing with no way out.
  • Minor performance and memory leak issues

The team also described “more updates” coming early next year. This will include new features as well as addressing “major community issues”:

More updates coming early next year:

New features:

  • Ability to turn off automatic camera rotation, to help players who suffer from motion sickness

The main community issues we are currently investigating and intend to address in a future patch:

  • Some NPCs cannot achieve Best Friend status in the Kingdom
  • Zoom in/out with touch screen issues
  • Buddy can have a phantom quest in ISims: Kingdom
  • Randomize in CAS would not randomly change skin color in ISims: Kingdom
  • A Sim player may have invisible objects if buttons are pressed too quickly
  • The head of the dragon costume on Trevor's Island has an incorrect texture
  • PC exclusive NPCs appear in T-pose in the quest menu
  • Bunnies can get stuck in their quest to herd on Trevor's Island and their position will not be reset once they leave the island in the Kingdom
  • Only one song plays when next to a house in the Kingdom; or from the radio in ISims
  • After pressing exit on fishing, the Sim will automatically re-enter fishing, so you have to cancel again

The team noted that they are unable to address “all concerns” due to the game's age (it's now 17 years old) – meaning they are “unable to modify” the title due to “legacy hard-coded elements based on another console”.

Having said this, the team is still “working hard to fix” any issues and improve the game's overall stability.
